Owners’ smartphones

Tesla electric cars are studded with cameras used as part of an automatic driving system, but there is no access to these cameras. Until some incident happens, but soon the situation may change, and users will have direct access to Tesla cameras, just like regular CCTV cameras. For example, you will not even have to look out the window to assess the situation near the car – it will be enough to launch the corresponding application on the smartphone and connect to the electric vehicle’s required camera.

Tesla electric cars will learn how to stream video from their cameras

One Twitter user, who, judging by the feed, is very well versed in the manufacturer’s electric vehicles, found in the autopilot code indications that Tesla will provide owners with a direct connection to the autonomous driving cameras system. This will be done through an application on a smartphone. The user noted that to stream video from the autopilot cameras, a connection with a speed of at least 30 MB / min is required; that is, you have to take care of a good communication channel—for example, LTE or 5G. And preferably with unlimited traffic, if you want to connect to cameras often.

When the function becomes available to users, it is not reported. But Tesla updates its cars’ firmware often enough that it can “activate” at any time.
