Tesla has repeatedly announced plans to rapidly expand the network of charging stations but failed to implement them within the specified time frame. According to experts, this was partly due to problems in the launch of the new generation Supercharger technology – Supercharger V3. As a result, the company announced the Supercharger V3 charging station last year, and after that significantly accelerated the deployment of the Tesla Supercharger network. By the end of last year, Tesla had over 15,000 charging stations in 1,716 locations worldwide.

It should be noted that the automaker has significantly accelerated the deployment of a network of charging stations since back in September of this year it consisted of about 17,500 Superchargers, that is, about 2,500 charging stations were installed in a little over a month.

The speed of roll-out of the charging station network is very important for Tesla, as the company tries to maintain the capacity of its infrastructure at the proper level amid record deliveries of electric vehicles. Along with the Supercharger network, which provides fast charging for long-distance travel, Tesla is also expanding the Destination Charger network to charge at slower speeds at night in hotels and other public areas.
