Tesla plans to recall more than 435,000 vehicles in China and release software updates to address the taillight issue.

A total of 142,277 Model 3 sedans and 292,855 Model Y crossovers may be affected by a software defect that prevents the car’s taillights from working properly, according to China’s State Administration for Market Regulation. Regulators have said this poses a safety risk to drivers.

In mid-November, Tesla already recalled more than 321,000 vehicles in the US due to a similar software glitch , in which taillights on some vehicles may intermittently fail to turn on.

This review is already the 20th in a row this year for Tesla.
