The Nowhere to Run campaign episode begins in a cheap Amsterdam tavern two weeks after 1981. The Trinity of Heroes came here after a major breakthrough in the CIA investigation. Here the characters will encounter the source and then proceed to capture the first of the two key figures.

“Operation Nowhere to Run contains several references to the first Black Ops that fans will surely recognize,” said Vondrak, “ but at the same time, it is a great introduction to newcomers to the world of Black Ops. In the first episode, we were able to beautifully bring back Woods and Mason, as well as introduce one of the new characters – Russell Adler. “

After a chase on the rooftops with shootings, the agents learn that the second target is at the airfield in the Turkish city of Trabzon. The elimination operation should be as quiet as possible, but just in case the heroes take unusual weapons with them.

“Of course, the Black Ops series has always had some amazingly unusual moments,” said Vondrak. – It was very important for us not only to add such a moment in the first episode but also to give it the unique character of Black Ops. We did this with the RC-XD, the radio-controlled explosives car from the first game. Towards the end of the mission, a dramatic plot twist awaits you: a ghost from the past not only turns out to be alive but also plans to do something that will change the entire balance of the Cold War. “

In Broken Jaw, the agents try to figure out who this mysterious enemy is. One of the heroes suggests that this is the spy Perseus, whose existence is not confirmed. The second episode of the campaign presents memories of the events of the Vietnam War, which will shed light on the truth.

“The plot of these two parts is perfect for each other: the heroes are trying to return to the past in order to restore the blurred lines between truth and lies, – said Vondrak. “ On these maps, we were able to create a wonderful sense of war – from flying helicopters to be a soldier fighting in the jungle and rice fields. ”

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War story campaign will feature several flashback missions.

“Among my favorite episodes of the game is one of the late Vietnamese missions,” added Vondrak. – In it, we tried to give the player more freedom and control. This is the most unique operation we’ve ever created. “
