DxOMark specialists tested the camera of the flagship smartphone Google Pixel Fold. Its capabilities were rated at 133 points – at the level of the iPhone 14 and the affordable Pixel 7a. Only if the cost of the Pixel 7a is $450, then the Pixel Fold is asking $1800. Turns out it’s a failure?
Not really, because in its category (large foldables) the Google Pixel Fold performed well. For comparison: Galaxy Z Fold4 in the DxOMark ranking with its 124 points takes 55th place, and, for example, Honor Magic Vs – 63rd (it has 119 points).
The camera is not the strong point of the Google Pixel Fold.
Among the advantages, experts note accurate exposure, good dynamic range and neutral white balance when shooting indoors and outdoors, effective stabilization when recording video, fast and accurate autofocus, fast shooting with zero shutter lag.
Cons are mainly associated with noise, low detail (in backlight and in low light conditions) and all sorts of artifacts. It seems that there are not so many minuses, but this turned out to be enough for the final score to be low.
