The Chinese hardly ever buy smartphones unless it’s Vivo, Oppo, Apple, Honor, Huawei or Xiaomi.

Huawei is growing very actively

While on the world stage, the Chinese company Transsion with its brands Tecno, Infinix and iTel has already made it to the top five largest smartphone manufacturers , directly in the Chinese market, the alignment of forces is completely different. Counterpoint analysts summed up the results of the second quarter, noting first of all the achievements of Huawei.

Huawei is still far from regaining its first place, but it was she who showed the greatest growth among the leaders: by 58%. This is despite the fact that the Chinese market as a whole sank by 4%, and in absolute terms, sales were the lowest for the Chinese market over the past nine years.

The leader is Vivo with a share of 17.7%, but Apple with 17.2% and Oppo with 17.2% are very slightly behind. Yes, and Honor, although it sank by 21%, occupies 15% of the market. Xiaomi has another 14%, Huawei still holds only 11.3%, and Realme, which also showed growth, now has only 2.7% of the market. All other companies account for only 4.9%.

That is, the Chinese market, although not similar to the US market, where the lion’s share of sales is accounted for by only two companies, is still almost completely divided between only six companies. Moreover, the gap between the first and last in this six is not even double.
