50% more than the previous generation
Samsung recently introduced its new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5. Despite the fact that for both models there were so many changes relative to their predecessors, and frankly few for the Fold5, Samsung itself is counting on a huge increase in sales.
The company said it sold just under 10 million current-generation foldable smartphones last year. 60% came from Flip4 and another 40% from Fold4. By the way, earlier buyers more often chose Flip models against the background of Fold.
Thus, over the next year, the company wants to sell about 15 million next-generation foldable smartphones. Third-party analysts predict total sales of such devices at 18-20 million this year.
