MSI advertises GeForce RTX 4070 Ti controversially
The day after the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti went on sale, MSI Gaming’s Twitter page posted the following message: “NVIDIA GeForce 4070 Ti is now on sale in our MSI store! Experience the power of Ada Lovelace architecture at a “not as bad as the 4080” price! Obviously, MSI is not happy with the cost of the GeForce RTX 4080 and recommends gamers to pay attention to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti instead.
The reason for MSI’s dissatisfaction is probably not the price of the GeForce RTX 4080 per se, but the fact that it does not go down – unlike other models, which are gradually becoming cheaper both in the US and in Europe. This is especially true for the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
In turn, the difference in cost between GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4090 is not as big as the difference in performance. Therefore, having the amount sufficient to purchase any of these models, the choice in favor of the older one looks more obvious. All in all, the GeForce RTX 4080 is in its niche, as MSI pointed out in a Twitter post.
