The configuration of the Teledroid robot for open space is revealed
The state corporation Roscosmos told about implementing the Teledroid project to create a specialized robot for performing tasks in outer space.
The NPO Android Technology carries out the development of Teledroid. Let us remind you that this very enterprise is the creator of the Skybot F-850 robot, better known as Fedor. This anthropomorphic machine visited the International Space Station (ISS), where it was successfully used in some experiments.
According to RIA Novosti, Teledroid will be different from Fedor in constructive terms. The new robot will look like a human torso without legs – in contrast to the full-size “Fedor” with lower limbs.

“Teledroid” will be placed on a special manipulator, which will ensure the robot’s movement between the ISS modules. The robot will be controlled using a special exoskeleton in the mode of copying the operator’s actions. In this case, the operator himself will be both onboard the space station and on Earth. Moreover, the machine will be able to perform certain operations on its own.
” The target work of Teledroid is primarily aimed at developing technologies (including artificial intelligence) of space robotics, which is necessary for further exploration of space and planets, ” the Roscosmos officials note.
It is assumed that the development of the robot will be fully completed by 2025.
