The creators of Hades admitted that they would like to see the main character of the game in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Supergiant Games Creative Director Greg Kasavin spoke to The Gamer about his desire to see Super Smash Bros. Ultimate one of their characters.
We are talking about the underworld Zagreb prince – the mythological roguelike Hades’ main character, treated kindly by critics (including from 3DNews). The game was also released on the Nintendo Switch, where it gained considerable popularity.
“Personally, I think that would be great. Smash does a great job of faithfully adapting characters – sometimes even more authentic than the games they came from, ” Kasavin shared.
For example, the developer cited a fighter from the Fatal Fury series: “I’m a big fan of fighting games with Neo-Geo, and they added Terry Bogard. Yeah, I think they would have done well, but this is one of those cases because they must have a very long list [of people wanting to get into the game]. “
Simultaneously, Kasavin urged not to regard the statement made as official confirmation that Zagreb will indeed join the roster of Super Smash Bros. characters. Ultimate.
Besides Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is home to several characters not related to Nintendo’s work, for example, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII and the Joker from Persona 5.
Hades is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Nintendo Switch. Contrary to Twitch’s teaser, the streaming service and Microsoft’s upcoming March 26 show will not announce Xbox versions of the game.
