Space X, which just launched a Falcon Heavy rocket from the same pad, needs more time to finish site preparation.

The SpaceX Dragon capsule called Endurance will deliver four astronauts to the ISS: Jasmine Mogbeli from NASA, Andreas Mogensen from the European Space Agency, Satoshi Furukawa from Japan and Konstantin Borisov from Russia.

The Crew-7 mission is delayed. New launch scheduled for August 25

Earlier, due to the Falcon Heavy rocket, the Crew-7 launch dates were already shifted. The first scheduled date was August 15, but problems with the launch of the Falcon Heavy on July 28 at the site became an obvious obstacle. In the past 10 days, NASA has changed the launch date three times and the reason indicated the readiness of the site: first on August 17, then on August 23, and now on August 25.

The new launch date may affect the transition period from the Crew-6 crew. Crew-6 is scheduled to leave the ISS on August 25, but NASA usually prefers to have a few days pass between departing and arriving crews.

Along with the change in the launch date, NASA noted that the new date was specifically chosen to better accommodate the schedule of cargo spacecraft. Space X does not typically comment on launch pad operations or make statements on social media.

The SpaceX Dragon, crewed by Crew-7, is expected to dock with the ISS around 2:45 a.m. on August 26. Two more reserve dates for the launch of Crew-7 are August 26 and 27.
