The designer showed what the next generation iPad Mini could look like

Based on rumors and leaks about the upcoming iPad Mini, which is expected to have a design inspired by the current iPad Pro, designer Parker Ortolani has shared concept renders that showcase his vision for a future compact tablet. Of course, this is just the designer’s own vision, but the result is quite curious.

Ortolani’s renders show a device that has been reduced by almost 20% with the same screen diagonal as the current iPad Mini. This can be achieved by reducing the bezels around the display and eliminating the physical Home button. The designer assumes the use of the Face ID user identification system in the device. In fact, the presented design strongly resembles what we can see in the current iPad Pro.

However, authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that the next-generation iPad Mini, which will be presented in 2021, will receive an 8.5- or 9-inch display and appear in a body similar in size to the current version of Apple. iPad Mini. Kuo attributes the shift to the need to clearly separate the uses of the iPad Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is supposed to boast a 6.7-inch screen. Recall that the current iPad Mini display has a diagonal of 7.9 inches.

Apple last updated the iPad Mini in 2019. The design of the device remained practically the same as that of the first model of the family, shown in 2012, but the filling corresponds to modern realities. The tablet is based on the powerful Apple A12 Bionic chipset, which also powers the iPhone XS, and supports the first-generation Apple Pencil stylus.
