The developer studio The Last Guardian has published another New Year teaser for its new game
The independent Japanese studio genDESIGN ( The Last Guardian ) continued the tradition of New Year’s teasers of its next, so far unnamed project established back in 2018.
With the onset of 2021, a greeting card appeared on the official gun design website’s main page, containing images from four games of the team of renowned game designer Fumito Ueda.
In three projects – Ico, Shadow of the Colossus (not a remake ), and the already mentioned The Last Guardian – we are talking about screenshots. At the same time, the latest development of genDESIGN is represented by concept art.
The illustration shows a young man in a red cloak, standing in the middle of a marshland and leaning on a large stone structure (or possibly a creature).
The genDESIGN 2021 New Year card is not the first of its kind. Similarly, the Japanese studio hinted at the next project in 2020, 2019, and 2018.
Currently, very little is known about the new genDESIGN game: in September 2018, Ueda revealed that in terms of scale, the project would be comparable to the studio’s previous creations.
Earlier it was also reported that Epic Games would finance and publish the next-gen design development. At the same time, the Ueda team will retain the right to intellectual property.
