Should you pay extra for a more expensive model?
This week Xiaomi introduced the Mi Watch Lite smartwatch, which many have dubbed almost a clone of the cheap Redmi Watch. However, as it turned out, there is a difference between these models, and a number of points are fundamental.
The devil is in the little things. What is the difference between the Mi Watch Lite and Redmi Watch smartwatches?
But let’s start with the general. The watch uses the same 1.4-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, and you can diversify the design with 120 screensavers. Both devices provide continuous heart rate monitoring and have a sleep monitoring system. Also for both declared water resistance 5ATM (you can swim, dive is not desirable) and Bluetooth 5.0 BLE communication modules. The battery capacity is 320 mAh, but the declared autonomy is different: 7 days for the Redmi Watch and 9 days for the Mi Watch Lite.
Now let’s move on to the differences. The Redmi Watch has an NFC module, XiaoAI proprietary voice assistant, and a built-in microphone. Mi Watch Lite does not have any of this, but the Xiaomi device has a GPS / GLONASS receiver and a barometer, and 11 training or physical activity modes – instead of 7 for the Redmi Watch.
Finally, prices. Here the advantage is on the side of the Redmi Watch: the device in China is estimated at the equivalent of $ 45. The official cost of the Mi Watch Lite has not yet been announced, but in the Giztop store, the new product is estimated at $ 59.
