The problem has not yet been resolved
Recently it became known that a number of users have lost some files from their Google Drive storage . Google immediately responded to the situation, saying it was investigating. Now the company has clarified the problem.
The company says the problem only affects a limited group of users, although it’s unclear how large the problem is.
While Google is investigating the issue, it advises not to disable your Google Drive account and not to delete or move the application data folder on your PC, which is located at:
Windows: %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalGoogleDriveFS;
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS.
Of course, Google also advises making a copy of data from cloud storage to your PC, if possible.
