The RuStore audience exceeded 22.5 million users per month
The team of the online application store RuStore for the Android operating system – the domestic analogue of Google Play – shared the latest news about the project. New features have become available to developers that will simplify the process of managing and testing applications, and will also increase the number of downloads.
A new promotion format is appearing in RuStore – in-game events. In the “Interesting” section, banners will appear with announcements of events from developers with dates, descriptions and links to applications. This will further attract the attention of users and increase the number of downloads and payments in applications and games.
The domestic alternative to Google Play is launching new features
Uploading videos to application cards has also become available. When publishing an application, developers can add a link to a video, which will be displayed to users in the application card in the section with screenshots. You can download videos from any popular video hosting site.
To check in-app purchases using test bank cards, Sandbox will be launched. The update will allow you to safely test payment integration without the need to conduct transactions with real money. Developers will be able to switch between real and test purchases at any time.
In addition, developers will soon be able to download applications in the Android App Bundle (AAB) format. This universal format takes into account the capabilities of the smartphone and automatically adapts to them. This will make it easier for developers to publish and manage applications in RuStore, and users will be able to download the content they like faster, since thanks to the new format the size of applications will be smaller.
RuStore was created by the VK company (formerly Mail.ru Group) under the patronage of the Ministry of Digital Development. This application directory became available in May 2022. At the beginning of February 2023, RuStore left the beta testing stage. More than 20 thousand applications are already available in the store, and the audience has exceeded 22.5 million users per month.
