The company admits that the transition to renewable sources is easier in Europe and the USA

In 2018, the Fujitsu Group joined the international RE 100 initiative with the goal of 40% or more of renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2050. Fujitsu is now shifting to renewable energies mainly in Europe and the United States, where they are abundant. Expanding the use of renewable energy sources in Japan is more difficult.

The electricity needs of the largest Fujitsu Group facility will very soon be 100% renewable

Nonetheless, the largest Fujitsu Group facility, Fujitsu Kawasaki’s headquarters, is about to become a shining example of success along this path. According to the Japanese IT and telecommunications giant, starting April 1, 2021, the office’s needs will be fully covered by renewable energy sources.

It remains to add that RE 100 (Renewable Energy 100) is an initiative of the international non-governmental organization The Climate Group. It involves companies seeking to use electricity only from renewable energy sources. The initiative has already been supported by 295 companies, including 50 Japanese ones.
