The well-known expert Ming-Chi Kuo, who specializes in Apple products and activities, said that mass production of the iPhone 13 family of smartphones this year will begin as usual for the company, and it will enter the market in September 2021 without any delays. Already in the second quarter, according to the source, Apple will reduce the volume of orders for the A14 series processors, as TSMC has to master the production of A15 processors for next-generation smartphones.
In terms of products in the existing iPhone 12 family, the Pro series are selling better than expected, but supply problems with Sony-branded image sensors are holding back production increases for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. This year, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro went on sale shortly after the October announcement, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max only made it to stores by November and in limited quantities.
