It could have come out in 2012 or 2013
At the dawn of the era of modern smartphones, manufacturers were not afraid to experiment, as before, and sometimes produced very unusual devices.
The first photos of the prototype Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 2
One of them was the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – a smartphone that could be called a gaming smartphone without any qualifications since it was a hybrid of a mobile phone and a portable game console. Unfortunately, despite the uniqueness, the pre-installed emulator of the first PlayStation, and generally good consumer qualities, the smartphone did not become popular. Actually, this was expected, since in those days there were several times fewer games for Android, and full-fledged portable consoles had not yet died out.
This is probably the reason why the Xperia Play 2 never saw the light of day. But now we can take a look at the photos of his prototype.
You can see that the smartphone is made in a completely different design, but at the same time, this design is in good agreement with the appearance of Sony Ericsson 2011-2012 phones. Of course, it may be a fake, but it looks very much like the prototype is real.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Sony will ever release something like this, especially considering that even without such unusual devices, the mobile division of the Japanese giant is not doing well.
