The giant Angara launch pad went to Vostochny

Oversized equipment weighing more than 2,000 tons went through multi-stage loading for several days. It is noted that due to the large size of the table, a special loading project had to be developed, taking into account the performance of all operations with an accuracy of a centimeter.

Now the ship, leaving the water area of the Zvyozdochka shipyard, will sail along the Northern Sea Route. It will follow through the Arctic Ocean, the Bering Strait, the Barents, and Okhotsk seas. In about a month, the ship will enter the Sovetskaya Gavan port: there the multi-ton structure will be loaded onto a barge and transported to Vostochny along the Amur and Zeya rivers.

“ Unloading a multi-ton launch pad at the Vostochny spaceport will begin in mid-September. According to the schedule approved by the state corporation Roscosmos, the installation of the launch pad at the Vostochny launch pad is scheduled for November, ”said Andrei Okhlopkov, Director General of the Center for the Operation of Terrestrial Space Infrastructure Facilities (TsENKI).
