Tests have begun
The first experimental modernized strategic missile carrier Tu-160M has begun conducting state joint tests, as reported by the press service of Rostec on July 6.
It is specified that the aircraft was developed by Tupolev PJSC of the United Aircraft Corporation. The tests will be carried out by “the crews of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the developer.”
The Tu-160M aircraft is equipped with modern weapons, an electronic warfare system, as well as on-board electronic equipment developed using advanced instrumentation technologies.

The creation of the modernized strategic missile carrier Tu-160M took place as part of a large-scale program for the modernization of long-range combat aircraft systems, which is currently being carried out at Tupolev PJSC.
Earlier, the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, said that the Kazan Aircraft Building Plant named after Gorbunov was increasing the production of new Tu-160M aircraft.
