The increase in prices for Tesla Model 3 has returned them to the level at the beginning of February
In just two months, Tesla has changed its Model 3 electric vehicles’ prices three times in the United States. As a result of strange maneuvers, the cost of the base version of the electric sedan has returned to the level corresponding to the state of the beginning of February. The latest change has resulted in a $ 500 price increase for the two most affordable versions of the Tesla Model 3.
As the Electrek website, which discovered this change, explains, Tesla does not comment on changes in its pricing policy and does not generally respond to press inquiries. Recall that in the second half of last month, Tesla Model 3 in the basic version fell in price by $ 1000 in the United States, and the most affordable Tesla Model Y lost $ 2000 in price at once. The company increases the price of the Tesla Model 3 in the Standard Range Plus specification by $ 500 to $ 37,990; the Long Range version with two electric motors and all-wheel drive is increasing by the same amount – from now on, it costs $ 46,990. The most expensive version of the Tesla Model 3 Performance series is still priced in the US at $ 55,990. This is the second price increase for the current month.
Simultaneously, the cost of the Tesla Model Y was increased by $ 1200 in the Chinese market, where a Shanghai-assembled crossover has been offered since January of this year. The novelty’s debut price turned out to be lower than expected – only $ 52,000 in terms of the exchange rate, but this week both offered versions of Model Y have risen in price in China by $ 1,200. This year, the company expects to produce about 200 thousand crossovers of this model in China; the enterprise’s design capacity in Shanghai corresponds to 450 thousand electric vehicles per year.
