The iPhone 12 Mini found a defect: the screen does not always respond to touch

A significant number of new iPhone 12 Mini owners reported lock screen sensitivity issues, which they discovered immediately after receiving their smartphones. A lot of posts describing the same failure, in particular, posted on the forums of the sites MacRumors and Reddit.

For most users who have encountered a defect, the display does not always respond when they swipe up from the bottom to unlock the device. Those who are more fortunate only notice the problem when they click on the flashlight or camera icons at the bottom of the screen.

Some iPhone 12 Mini owners speculated that conduction or grounding issues could be the reason for the screen’s lack of response. The reason for this guess was the information that in some cases the defect disappeared when the smartphone was connected to a wired charger plugged into an outlet, or when the metal frames of the case were touched.

However, there is still no consensus on the origin of the defect. Perhaps it is not hardware related, but software-related. In this case, the problem will be resolved by simply issuing an update from Apple.

As a reminder, the iPhone 12 Mini was announced on October 13 alongside the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. It has become the smallest smartphone in the current Apple lineup. In Russia, sales of the iPhone 12 Mini started on November 13 at a price of 69,990 rubles.
