The iPhone 12 will not come with headphones or a charger. This is how Apple cares about nature

The persistent rumors about the iPhone 12 package proved to be completely true: Apple did announce today that its new smartphones will ship without power adapters and wired EarPods. Instead, only a modest USB-C to Lightning cable will be included. The company attributes this to concern for the environment.

people said it did not include a charger or earbuds with the iPhone 12 for environmental reasons. For the same reason, this year’s Apple Watch models did not have a charger. This would supposedly allow less raw materials to be consumed for each iPhone sold. At the same time, such a step significantly saves the size of the package: when delivering batches in the same volume, it will be possible to fit 70% more smartphones and reduce carbon emissions.

Overall, Apple estimates that all of these changes will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2 million tonnes per year, which is the equivalent of 450,000 combustion-engine vehicles on the road.

However, these changes have been met with outrage on the web, with many believing that Apple is simply seeking to increase margins and reduce shipping costs. And the absence of any kind of headphones will make you think about buying AirPods or at least the new Beats Flex.

As part of its announcement, Apple announced that it has already produced 700 million wired Lightning headphones and 2 billion Apple power adapters, which means that most interested people already have both accessories in stock.
