But this does not change the essence
The other day, the Honor 30 smartphone was introduced, which was the first to receive the new Kirin 985 SoC. Its CPU configuration is almost identical to the processor in the Kirin 820, but the GPU is newer, although with fewer cores.
The latest Kirin 985 SoC was a little better than we thought. The new result in the benchmark is 9% higher than the old
The first tests showed that the Kirin 985 is not very different from the Kirin 820, ahead of the latter by only a few percent, and even then due to the difference in the performance of the graphics core. New data indicate a slightly different result.
If the last time the source talked about 380,000 points in AnTuTu, now we are talking about 413,621 points. This means that the Kirin 985 is faster than the Kirin 820 by about 10%, and even slightly faster than the Kirin 980. The results have grown slightly in both the GPU and the CPU. Perhaps the first result was lower due to the non-final version of the software.
However, even if the Kirin 985 is really 10% faster than the Kirin 820, this does not change anything – the new platform still makes no sense, except for the marketing one.
