The legendary Nokia N95 was to receive a re-release. The prototype was shown on video

HMD Global has already revived several classic Nokia phone models. In 2017, the world saw a reimagined 3310. In the near future, the release of an updated Nokia 6300 and a completely new Nokia 8000 is expected. Now the video showed a prototype of the reprint of the Nokia N95, which HMD Global decided not to release.

YouTube blog MrMobile has released a video that allows us to take a look at a prototype of an unreleased device. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work, but it reveals design ideas. A feature of the device is that it is a slider. Shifting the display to the side reveals impressively large speakers, dual camera lenses, and an LED flash. Another interesting touch is the ring around the rear camera block, which can act as a stand. Unfortunately, the device never went into production.

Information about the expected characteristics of the smartphone is not reported, however, it is likely that the development of the reissued Nokia N95 has not reached the stage of elaboration of technical parameters. However, it can be assumed that the device should have received the most advanced hardware, like its legendary ancestor.

Nokia CEO Juho Sarvikas shared a sketch that demonstrates different options for using the sliding mechanism. The smartphone could become a potential hit of sales, but its fate was different. Nevertheless, this does not mean that such developments will never be implemented. Perhaps they will find application in another form.
