This year the company took another step in the budget direction with the introduction of the Galaxy A01. This is the most affordable offering for customers looking to join the Samsung ecosystem. Now the lineup is expected to include a new smartphone dubbed the Galaxy A02. It took a GeekBench test over the weekend that revealed some of its key characteristics.

The new device has a model number SM-A025F. According to Geekbench, this phone is powered by a Qualcomm SoC clocked at 1.8GHz. It is speculated that we are talking about the Snapdragon 450 platform. The chipset is enough for basic use, but more RAM could be added. The device has only 2 GB of RAM.

Starting in November, Google will require all Android phones with 2GB of RAM to ship with Android Go. As such, the Galaxy A02 is likely to hit the market earlier than November as the smartphone runs Android 10 stock.

In Geekbench tests, the Samsung SM-A025F scored 744 points in the single-core test and 3887 points in the multi-core test.
