The first phase will be ready in 2023
Dogger Bank, the world’s largest offshore wind farm, has raised $ 8 billion in investment, sources say.

The Norwegian oil giant Equinor and the British utility company SSE have invested a combined £ 6 billion in the project, which equates to $ 8.03 billion.
The Dogger Bank power plant will generate 3.6 GW of power. For comparison, the Walney Extension, which was the largest offshore station at the time, launched in 2018, has a capacity of 659 MW.
The Dogger Bank will be built and commissioned in three phases, 1.2 GW each. It is expected that the first will be completed in 2023, the second in another year, but the third will be completed only in 2026.
The plant will also stand out because it will be the first to use the new General Electric (GE) Haliade-X turbines. These are the largest turbines at the moment, each designed to generate 13 MW of power.
Ultimately, this power plant alone will meet 5% of all UK electricity needs, which is equivalent to the needs of 6 million households in the country.
In general, the UK plans to increase offshore wind farms’ total capacity to 40 GW by 2030.
