The first place is still occupied by Windows 10 May 2004
The most recent version of Windows 10 has slowed down. October OS update is still in third place in popularity
At the end of December, the most recent major Windows 10 update (October update labeled 20H2) was able to take third place, gaining a share of 13.6%. Over the past month, Windows 10 20H2 has slowed down a bit and gained only 3% more, reaching a share of 16.8%.
The first and third places are still occupied by the May version of Windows 10 2004 with a share of 39.8% and the autumn update of 2019 Windows 10 1909 with 31.2%. Their market shares began to decline gradually.
In fourth, fifth, and sixth place are the versions 1903 with 6.6%, 1803 with 1.8%, and 1809 with 1.5%. They are all no longer supported by Microsoft.
Microsoft discontinued support for Windows 10 version 1903 in December, and PCs based on it receive automatic updates to version 1909. In May 2021, a similar automatic transition from version 1909 to 2004 – May 2020 update will begin. The transition starts for the same reason – the termination of technical support.
