In the summer, AvtoVAZ began to produce these engines around the clock

The journalists of the publication “Behind the wheel” continue to test the corporate Lada Granta 2021, equipped with a new eight-valve 90-horsepower VAZ-11182 engine, which was installed in this model only last year.

The VAZ-11182 engine replaced the outdated VAZ-11189 engine. It has been noticeably improved in terms of the connecting rod and piston group, crankshaft and camshaft, while becoming more economical and powerful. The power has increased from 87 to 90 hp, and the torque has increased from 140 to 143 Nm. 80% of thrust is available to him already at a thousand revolutions per minute. In the summer, AvtoVAZ began to produce these engines around the clock – in three shifts.

According to “Behind the wheel”, having passed a run-in of 15 thousand km, the new engine showed a decrease in average fuel consumption (AI-92) from 8.5 to 6.5-7 liters per 100 km of track. This is due to the fact that the engine was completely run in, after the end of the summer they stopped using air conditioning in the car, while the car made several trips around Central Russia at an average speed of 100-110 km / h with a minimum of overtaking.

“Behind the wheel” finally notes that Lada Granta is the most economical car in terms of fuel costs in the park of the publication.

Earlier it was reported that AvtoVAZ specifically limited the power of the VAZ-11182 at around 90 hp, but now the engine is being boosted . Without the use of turbocharging, the power of the VAZ-11182 can be raised to 116-120 forces. And with it, the maximum torque will also increase.
