Not so many changes
This year, the mid-size luxury sedan market will see major changes. BMW is releasing the 2024 BMW 5-Series and the all-electric i5, while Mercedes has the 2024 E-Class. Lexus, in turn, has unveiled the 2024 Lexus ES.
It is the best-selling non-SUV Lexus to date. It dominated North America’s gasoline-powered midsize luxury sedan segment for years. In 2022, for example, the Lexus ES was more popular in the US than the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class combined.
The new Lexus ES is introduced.
The 2024 Lexus ES gets several new technologies and a new Vapor Chrome finish for the 18-inch wheels that come standard on the ES Ultra Luxury. Base, Luxury, F Sport Design and F Sport Handling editions can be ordered with a technology package that includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Lexus interface, voice control, head-up display and wireless updates.
Buyers are available engines with a capacity of 250, 350 and 300 hp. The most affordable Lexus ES cost $42,490 last year, and this year the price has increased to $43,190.
There is still no electric version in the lineup.
