Less than 1% of all active devices use it
Google has announced that the Google Play service no longer supports the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
The next version of Android is completely disconnected from Google services.
This version of the OS was released 10 years ago and now, according to Google itself, it is used on less than 1% of all active Android devices. The last time Google disconnected a version of Jelly Bean from its services was in 2021.
It will continue to be possible to use KitKat devices, but everything related to Google services, including synchronization, backup, and so on, will no longer work on such devices.
