The Nord 2 will be the first OnePlus smartphone to be powered by MediaTek. Presentation – next quarter

Last year, the mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord debuted with support for 5G networks. As it has now become known, a second-generation device is being prepared for release, in which OnePlus will, for the first time, refuse to use a Qualcomm processor.

Let’s briefly recall the key characteristics of the current OnePlus Nord (in the pictures). This is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip, a 6.44-inch Full HD + Fluid AMOLED screen, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, a 128/256 GB flash drive. The front has a dual camera with sensors of 32 and 8 million pixels, and the rear quad camera has a configuration of 48 + 8 + 5 + 2 million pixels.

The Android Central resource told about the next-generation device. It is claimed that the new product will enter the commercial market under the name OnePlus Nord 2, and the official presentation will take place next quarter.

For the first time in its practice, OnePlus will use a MediaTek processor instead of Qualcomm’s solutions. It will be the flagship 6-nanometer Dimensity 1200 chip. This product contains eight processing cores with a clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz, an accelerator Mali-G77 MC9 and a 5G modem (up to 4.7 Gbps).

Other characteristics of the novelty have not yet been disclosed. But it’s safe to say that the screen resolution will be at least Full HD +, and the main camera will absorb three or four components.
