The Russian State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) announced that its subsidiary, the Russian civil drone operator Unmanned Aerial Systems, has applied to the Federal Air Transport Agency for an air operator certificate. STLC notes that BAS LLC is the first drone operator in Russia with state participation. The air operator certificate will allow the company to provide commercial unmanned aviation services using aircraft weighing up to 30 kg.

It is assumed that the company “Unmanned Aerial Systems” will be able to conduct aerial photography, monitor objects, carry out various work in the field of agriculture, as well as provide services for the transmission or amplification of the communication signal. The company also plans to contribute to the development of a regulatory framework for the use of UAVs, testing of the latest technologies and their promotion. By 2027, the company intends to assemble a fleet of 400 aircraft, previously it was about the purchase and testing by the operator of a domestic cargo drone weighing more than 500 kg, as well as drones of other classes.
