The Outer Worlds will receive the Murder on Eridanos story expansion until April 2021
Last July, Obsidian Entertainment confirmed that the second story expansion for The Outer Worlds will release in 2021. In the latest financial report from Take-Two Interactive , more precise dates were disclosed : Murder on Eridanos will be released in the current fiscal year, that is, until April 2021.
Murder on Eridanos recounts “Helen’s last (and most beautiful) voyage on Halcyon.” This is about the heroine of the in-game television series “Terror on Monarch” (Terror on Monarch). The developers did not disclose other details.
It is known that the DLC will appear on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S within the specified timeframe. On consoles of this generation, The Outer Worlds and add-ons work through backward compatibility. The Nintendo Switch option will be delayed – its release is promised until the end of 2021.
The first expansion, Peril on Gorgon, also came out later on the hybrid console than on other platforms. It became available on PCs and Microsoft and Sony systems on September 9, 2020, and on Nintendo Switch just this week.
Peril on Gorgon expanded on the main storyline by adding the ability to explore the asteroid Gorgon after completing the main questline on the planet Monarch. DLC is designed for trained players – before going to a new region, the developers advise you to reach level 25. In addition to a new story related to dangerous scientific experiments, the expansion brought fresh perks, flaws, skills, weapons and equipment. The maximum level of character development has increased to 33.
Both DLCs are included with the $ 25 Expansion Pass. The first expansion can be purchased separately for $ 15. The price of the second is still unknown.
Obsidian is rumored to be working on a new game in The Outer Worlds universe. In October 2020, Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad announced that the team had begun preparations for the next part. The developers themselves have repeatedly stated their desire to turn the game into a series. Even before the premiere, studio head Feargus Urquhart hinted that the satirical RPG could become a trilogy. Microsoft, which announced the purchase of Obsidian in November 2018, also hopes that The Outer Worlds will kick-start a “long-running franchise . “
The Outer Worlds was released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 25, 2019. The release on Nintendo Switch took place on June 5, 2020. For the first year, the PC version was exclusive to the Epic Games Store – the RPG was released on Steam on October 23, 2020.
Obsidian is currently developing Avowed, a high- budget fantasy RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe.
