UAZ fully compensates the amount paid for the car and will pay the owner another 880 thousand rubles
The United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg reported on the civil case of Philip Bereza against Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant LLC on the protection of consumer rights. Philip reportedly purchased a UAZ Patriot on September 12, 2021 from a dealer in St. Petersburg for 850,000 rubles. However, after the purchase, the owner of the car revealed many shortcomings in the SUV – more than 20! Among them, improper operation of the power steering, door locks and battery, increased engine oil consumption. Sometimes the Patriot wouldn’t start or pick up speed.
Of course, the owner contacted the dealer, reported the shortcomings and asked them to fix them. On October 19, 2021, the Patriot was delivered to the service on a tow truck, and then the story dragged on until the owner arrived at the dealership on December 25, 2021 and sealed the car.

The court appointed an examination, which really revealed a lot of shortcomings, including, for example, corrosion on all elements of the car body, defects in the upholstery of the interior, improper battery operation, etc.
As a result, the court exacted from UAZ the amount paid for the car (850 thousand rubles), the difference in the cost of the car (another 850 thousand rubles), compensation for non-pecuniary damage (30 thousand rubles), expenses for paying for the services of a representative (50 thousand rubles). ), the cost of paying the state duty (3.15 thousand rubles), a fine (825 thousand rubles). Finally, a penalty was collected from UAZ – 16.5 thousand rubles for each day of delay from 01/11/2022 until the date of actual fulfillment of obligations.
