So promised Finance Minister Anton Siluanov

By the end of the year, Yakovlev (part of the United Aircraft Corporation Rostec) is to deliver two new import-substituted SJ-100 airliners to Aeroflot. Work on aircraft and PD-8 engines is proceeding in parallel, and the latter should soon be certified. This was announced by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, speaking at a plenary meeting of the State Duma.

The PD-8 engine for the Superjet-100 will be certified shortly

“ Aircraft manufacturing – 175 billion rubles [the State Duma considered the draft federal law “On the federal budget for 2024 and the planning period of 2025 and 2026”]. First of all, I would like to note the need to create new engines for our aircraft. This is a PD-8 for Superjet – we are already completing tests, and this engine should be certified shortly. These are PD-14 for MS-21 and PD-35 for wide-body aircraft,” said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

The engine will be certified before Aeroflot receives the planes. Delivery of the aircraft is planned for December, which means the certificate for PD-8 can be issued in November. Earlier, Yakovlev CEO Andrei Boginsky said that at least 120 flights would have to be completed to certify the SJ-100 with the PD-8 engine. Let us remind you that the PD-8 should replace the Franco-Russian SaM146 engines.
