For Huawei, quality is more important than profit

Huawei CEO Richard Yu recently revealed on China’s EV100 Forum that Huawei smartphones have a much lower defect rate than iPhones.

Richard Yu added that when he took over the business, Huawei’s defect rate was much higher than Apple’s, but that has now changed. This confirms that the quality control system has changed in the company.

Huawei’s continued investment in research and development, which accounted for 25.1% of its annual revenue in 2022, has enabled the company to create high-quality smartphones and improve the consumer experience, he said. He added that quality, not profit, is Huawei’s highest priority.

The company recently launched its flagship Huawei P60 series and Mate X3 foldable phone, both of which run the HarmonyOS operating system.

Apple should release the iPhone 15 series in September this year.
