More than 11,000 pre-orders have been placed
BYD announced that cumulative orders for its fastback crossover Song L crossover exceeded 11,000 units in 17 days after pre-sales opened on October 31. Song L will be released on December 15th in China. Buyers can choose from five models ranging in price from $30,500 to $38,800.
Song L is BYD’s latest model, based on the e-Platfrom 3.0 architecture, which also powers Seal, Dolphin, Atto 3 (Yuan Plus). It also features the brand’s latest design language called Dragon Face. It has a front end with slim LED headlights and a sporty front bumper with a trapezoidal air intake. This crossover also features a sloping roofline and retractable door handles. At the rear of the Song L there is an active spoiler.

The body size is 4840 × 1950 × 1560 mm, and the wheelbase is 2930 mm. It is 115 mm shorter and 49 mm narrower than the Zeekr 001 liftback from Geely. It received the latest DiSus C suspension. Let us recall that BYD previously announced adaptive suspension and new technology for the car’s intelligent body control system. The system includes electronically controlled solenoid valve shock absorbers and a suite of sensors that scan the road surface in real time. As a result, the electronics adjust the performance of the shock absorbers, constantly changing their stiffness characteristics in accordance with the current road situation. The power of different versions ranges from 200 to 515 hp, and there are all-wheel drive options.
Inside, there’s a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a large 15.6-inch floating central control screen and a 50-inch head-up display. The car system is based on the latest generation of BYD’s DiLink operating system, as well as the advanced DiPilot driving assistance system, which supports more than 30 functions such as driver fatigue monitoring and autonomous parking.
