Based on the results of 9 months, Toyota is the leader in the global ranking of automobile brands, occupying 10.9% of the market, according to focus2move. The brand sold 6.82 million cars, which is 3.5% more than a year earlier.

Volkswagen, which ranks second, sold 3.7 million cars in 9 months, which is 3.9% more than a year earlier. The company occupies 5.9% of the market.

Ford sold 2.94 million new cars, improving its last year’s result by 7.5%; Hyundai took fourth place with a result of 2.83 million units, which is 4.7% more than a year earlier.

Honda ranks fifth (2.76 million units; -1.8%), followed by Nissan (2.35 million units; +4.9%), Chevrolet (2.28 million units; +8.6 %), Kia (2.26 million units; +3.5%), Mercedes (1.74 million units; +4.3%) and BMW (1.73 million units; +14.6%).

BYD showed the highest dynamics, increasing sales by 51.3% and taking 11th place, having sold 1.73 million of its cars.
