The first cars will be produced in the second half of 2023
Governor of the Saratov Region Roman Busargin announced the imminent start of production of electric vehicles, batteries and charging stations. The first cars will be produced in the second half of 2023. AlfaTech will be the investor.
The assembly is planned to be organized at the site in Engels, the second largest city in the Saratov region. They want to create up to 270 jobs at the plant and produce up to 2,000 electric vehicles for taxis and carsharing by the end of next year. The partner will be the Chinese company FAW.
What models are planned to be produced, Roman Busargin did not specify. Today, there are only two cars in the Russian FAW line: the Besturn X40 and Bestune T77 gasoline crossovers. There are no battery versions of these machines even in China.
The FAW Bestune E01 mid-size electric crossover with a 190 hp engine is produced in China. and a power reserve of 450 km. It costs about 1.8-2 million rubles in terms of our money.
The manufacturer also releases FAW Bestune NAT, created specifically for taxi and car sharing. It is available with two engine options, 136 and 163 hp. with a power reserve of 401 to 425 km. The price in China is from 1.35 to 1.5 million rubles in terms of our money.
