Rostec announced today that the first prototype of the domestic import-substituting SSJ New aircraft has been transferred to the flight test station for ground testing of new aircraft systems. The first refueling of the aircraft has already taken place.

“ Ground testing is an important step in preparation for the first flight of the SSJ-NEW. Within a few weeks, we will test the operation of all new aircraft systems on the ground to ensure their correct operation in the air. Safety is one of the key priorities in the creation of a new modification of a civil aircraft , ”said Andrey Boginsky, Deputy General Director of PJSC UAC for Civil Aviation, General Director of the Irkut Corporation.
After the first flight, the SSJ-New will be presented to the Federal Air Transport Agency for certification tests, following which the imported systems will be approved for use. And then – mass production and commercial operation. The SSJ-New shown in the images is equipped with SaM 146 engines, the next prototype of the liner will receive domestic PD-8 engines. By the way, the airliner may well change its name to Russian .
