The real range of a loaded Ford F-150 Lightning was measured

Sandbags were used for testing.

A recent study showed that the actual range of a Ford F-150 Lightning electric vehicle is reduced by almost 25% when loaded.

Automotive company AAA conducted an experiment by placing 635 kg sandbags in the open trunk of a Ford F-150 Lightning EV. This is comparable in weight to 8 adults weighing about 80 kg.

The driving range of the car without loading was 447 km, while the declared reserve was 483 km. Adding the aforementioned cargo and re-measuring it showed that the range had dropped to 338 km, or about 25% from the original and 30% from the declared one.
