The release of the old school shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin postponed until the summer of 2021 due to coronavirus

Publishers 1C Entertainment and 3D Realms, together with the development studio KillPixel, announced a forced change in development plans for the PC version of their old-school shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.

Recall that on December 22 of this year, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin was supposed to receive a content patch (map, type of opponents and artefact), and on February 25, 2021, it was supposed to leave Steam Early Access.

As it became known, none of these events will happen at the appointed time. Some members of the development team got sick with COVID-19, and KillPixel will need more time to implement their ideas.

Due to this, the planned December patch for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin has been pushed back to January. According to the creators, the delay will make the update “extraordinary”.

The release of the final version of Wrath: Aeon of Ruin also had to be postponed – now the game is scheduled for a full release on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in summer 2021. KillPixel will announce a more precise release date in early 2021.

At the launch of Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, they promise three unique worlds (five levels in each), 15 types of enemies, 9 types of weapons, 10 artefacts, full support for mods, multiplayer and localization.

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is a first-person shooter in the style of hits from the 90s: Doom, Blood, Hexen and so on. The player gets the role of the Outlander, who, according to the behest of the Shepherd of Lost Souls, must find and destroy the Guardians of the Old World.
