The SGDQ Summer Speedrunner Marathon 2021 will be held online from 4 to 11 July
The Games Done Quick charity speedrunner festivals have announced their plans for the next major marathon of this kind in the official microblog of events.
As it became known, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and related precautions, Summer Games Done Quick 2021 will turn into Summer Games Done Quick 2021 Online.
In other words, the upcoming iteration of SGDQ will also take place entirely online. Recall that marathons under the auspices of Games Done Quick have been held in this mode since April 2020.
The organizers have not yet decided on the Summer Games Done Quick 2021 Online festival program, but they named the approximate dates – from 4 to 11 July this year.
You can apply to participate in Summer Games Done Quick 2021 Online as a speedrunner until April 11, and two days before that, enrollment in the ranks of volunteers will open on the GDQ website.
The previous summer marathon of fans of speed passage – Summer Games Done Quick 2020 – was the scene of the first-ever GDQ speedrun of a VR game ( Half-Life: Alyx ).
And as part of the Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 marathon in January, over $ 2.76 million was raised to help the non-profit Prevent Cancer Foundation, which is engaged in diagnosing and detecting cancer.
