Cutting-edge chips come from a “completely different place”

Assistant to the American President for National Security Jake Sullivan said yesterday, April 27, 2023, that US competitiveness in the issue of critical technologies was undermined.

He added that the current situation creates risks for the economy and national security of the United States.

“The United States has not just lost production, we have undermined our competitiveness in terms of critical technologies that will determine the future,” said Jake Sullivan.

According to him, today the United States produces only about 10% of the global volume of semiconductor products. As for the most advanced chips, they are made “in a completely different place.”

“This poses critical risks to the economy and national security vulnerabilities,” added Jake Sullivan.
