The Valheim developers specifically made it so that when cutting down trees could fall on the players

The Washington Post published an interview with Iron Gate Studios co-founder Henrik Tornqvist. In the conversation, the head shared interesting details of Valheim, a survival simulator that has been the leader in sales on Steam for five weeks in a row. During the conversation, the journalists managed to find out that the trees falling on the players’ heads were not accidental. The developers specifically implemented this feature, as they considered it “funny.”

Henrik Tornqvist comments: “We were hoping that the tree falling on your head would be an experience that many [players] would be able to experience, as it was intended. We find it pretty funny” The described mechanic quickly became a feature of Valheim, which ensured its viral popularity – many users were surprised when their characters died from falling trees. This is because, in most survival simulators, logging is not accompanied by such a danger.

In the same interview, Henrik Tornqvist spoke about the fix that Iron Gate plans to implement: “Valheim may also need a balance adjustment. The bow and arrow are a little stronger than they should be right now. This [weapon] will probably be weakened in the coming patches

Recall: Valheim was released on February 2, 2021, in Steam Early Access. Now sales of the game are rapidly approaching six million copies.
