The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Quest Designer talks about the process of creating a Game of Thrones reference

In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt  was a place with many “easter eggs,” and one of them refers to Tyrion Lannister from “Game of Thrones.” The body of a character similar to him can be found in the Kaer Almhuld fortress on the Skellige Islands. As it turns out, this secret has a funny creation story, which was recently shared by The Witcher 3 Quest Designer Philipp Weber.

In a personal microblog, the developer responded to the PC Gamer article with the following comment: “This Easter egg from The Witcher 3 is the result of a pleasant confluence of unforeseen circumstances. Miles Tost (level designer CD Projekt RED) built a celestial [prison] cell and added a small skeleton there as a reference to Game of Thrones. When I discovered this later, I thought it was just a coincidence and asked the character artist to create [model] Tyrion

Philip Weber then revealed that he added Lannister’s body to a chamber with three walls. This refers to a scene from Game of Thrones where the character is imprisoned in the Eagle’s Nest. It was only after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that Philip Weber and Miles Toast realized that they were simultaneously working on the same reference without knowing it.
