Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced the allocation of the necessary amount of resources to refine the engines of Russian aircraft, in particular the PD-8 and PD-14 for the Sukhoi Superjet New and MS-21 aircraft.

We urge our colleagues from enterprises that are engaged in the refinement of these engines. We had certain difficulties. But the necessary amount of resources has been allocated and will be allocated. Because without these engines, our planes will not fly. Imported engines are currently unavailable to us. There is money – there is money for additional expansion of the capacity of our domestic aircraft. And the money is provided for the refinement and launch of the production of engines.

In June, Rostec announced that the Sukhoi Superjet New aircraft would soon make its first flight powered by Franco-Russian SaM146 engines. The second prototype will start testing with the domestic PD-8 engine.
