It concerns the first half of the year
When various analytics companies provide data on the PC market or on individual components, this applies to the entire market, which in many countries primarily consists of turnkey systems. But the DIY market is much more difficult to assess. Analysts from Danawa Research shared statistics from just this area, although it concerns South Korea.
It is impossible to distribute this statistics to the whole world, but nevertheless such information rarely appears. So, the statistics refer to the first half of the current year. The processor market is not equally divided between Intel and AMD, but the gap is small: 57% versus 43%. This is definitely a local victory for AMD.
They willingly buy AMD processors, but completely ignore Radeon video cards.
Among the most popular Intel CPUs are the 13th generation Core i5 (36.1%), 12th generation Core i5 (24.4%) and 13th generation Core i7 (18.13%).
In the case of AMD, Ryzen 5 5000 (61.6%), Ryzen 7 5000 (14.57%) and Ryzen 5 7000 (11.32%) are in the lead.
But in the segment of video cards there is not only parity – this cannot be called competition. Nvidia dominates with an incredible 94% share, AMD only holds 5%, and Intel holds another 1%.
The main sales came from the GeForce RTX 30 line, which holds 62.73%, but the RTX 40 also performs well, with 22.12%. In more detail, the RTX 3060 leads with a share of 28.66%, but the RTX 3060 Ti is not far behind, taking up 25.13%. You can also highlight the RTX 4070 Ti with a share of 12.43%, which closes the top three.
